The Search for a Gift That Means Something
An art gift certificate solves the hardest part of gift giving: finding something personal without guessing wrong. It lets the people you love choose original art that speaks to them, and with Art Delivers, it supports communities in need at the same time.
Gift cards are already a favorite. In the 2025 holiday season, gift cards ranked as the second-most popular gift in the United States, with spending expected to reach $29 billion, according to the National Retail Federation. Shoppers said they like that gift cards let recipients pick out their own gifts.
Most of those cards go to restaurants, banks and department stores. An art gift certificate offers something more lasting: a piece of original art, chosen by the person who will live with it.
This guide covers why art makes such a meaningful present, how Art Delivers gift certificates work and more art gift ideas for every occasion.
Why Art Makes a Meaningful Gift
Most gifts are used up, worn out or forgotten within a year. Art is different.
- It lasts. An original work can hang on a wall for decades and be passed down through a family.
- It is personal. Art reflects taste, memories and emotions in a way few objects can.
- It is one of a kind. An original piece cannot be bought at the nearest mall.
- It supports a real person. Every purchase helps an artist keep creating.
Why a Gift Certificate Beats Guessing
Choosing art for someone else is tricky. Taste is personal, and a piece that thrills you may not suit their home. A gift certificate removes the guesswork:
- They choose what they love. The recipient picks a style, artist and subject that speak to them.
- It fits their space. Only they know the size of their walls and the colors of their rooms.
- No awkward returns. Nobody has to pretend to love a painting they would never have chosen.
- It fits your budget. You decide the amount, and the recipient can add to it for a larger piece.
- It adds an experience. Browsing artists and discovering a new favorite becomes part of the gift.
How Art Delivers Gift Certificates Work
Art Delivers gift certificates come in four amounts, and each one does double duty: it is a gift for someone you love and support for people in need.
| Gift certificate | Price |
|---|---|
| Art Delivers Gift Certificate | $25 |
| Art Delivers Gift Certificate | $50 |
| Art Delivers Gift Certificate | $100 |
| Art Delivers Gift Certificate | $250 |
Here is what makes them different from an ordinary gift card:
- They can be sent directly to your recipient. Art Delivers can send the certificate to the person you choose.
- They open the door to fractional ownership. The recipient can use the certificate to acquire a share of a painting or art object, so even a small gift can go toward an important work.
- They support Campaigns of Care. Art Delivers runs campaigns that help communities in need and people in disaster areas. Buying a certificate supports that work.
Art Delivers describes its purpose as going beyond profit to focus on “people, planet, and purpose.” A gift certificate is an easy way to share that purpose with someone else.
When to Give an Art Gift Certificate
An art gift certificate suits almost any occasion:
- Holidays: a thoughtful alternative to another sweater or gadget.
- Birthdays and anniversaries: a gift that marks the year with something lasting.
- Weddings and housewarmings: help a couple or new homeowner choose their first piece together.
- Graduations and retirements: celebrate a new chapter with art for a new space.
- Thank-you and corporate gifts: show appreciation to clients, staff or mentors with a gift that also does good.
